2026 IHA Exhibition and Sale
Dear IHA artists, patrons and donors,
Spring has arrived in Brown County and the annual Indiana Heritage Arts Exhibition and Sale is ready to “bust out” in June.
Deadlines to enter are approaching in May so artists, please get your entries in. Go to the IHA website and download your entry forms. Mailing instructions are there as well as all the drop-off information. We again have early drop-off dates at the Gallery and at James Ross Fine Art in Indianapolis.
If you wish to place an ad in the IHA catalogue or support us with a donation, all the info and ad specs are on the IHA website. www.indianaheritagearts.org In addition to our printed catalogues, a digital version is included. It’s a good place to advertise your art and your business.

Painting Selma’s Garden
On June 13th, “Painting Selma’s Garden” will feature a special Centennial version at the T.C. Steele State Historic Site. We are celebrating the Brown County Art Gallery’s 100th birthday and memorializing the 100th year since the passing of T.C. Steele.
Artists are invited to paint the gardens during the day and join us for a Centennial Celebration that evening. There will be wine, food, access to the site venues and a chance to see history come alive. The new play, “Selma and the Painter” starring Broadway actress Jill Tasker will be presented in the Steele studio. A special opportunity to hear Selma’s story in the place where it happened.
Art sales will be conducted by the Steele Site throughout the day. Admission to the site is free that day, and generally lots of visitors arrive to watch and buy. Commission is 30% and benefits IHA, the Steele Site and the Brown County Art Gallery Foundation.
At 5:00 the celebration begins. A special rate for artists is $20 each for artists and their guests. General public admission is $45.00. We will be taking reservations at the IHA opening reception on Saturday, June 6th. Artists can register for the paint out by calling the Gallery. 812-988-4609

West Baden Paint-out
Mark your calendars for the IHA West Baden Paint Out on August 7-8.
This is an opportunity to paint on the grounds of an Indiana historic treasure. Registration is free and you conduct your own sales. Paint on Friday and Saturday and then bring them to the rotunda at the magnificent West Baden Springs Hotel for display. The hotel will feature a Saturday afternoon reception with food and beverages. They advertise this event to all their guests, and the hotel buys work. IHA volunteers will be on hand. Artists are allowed to bring four additional completed paintings in addition to those created at the Paint Out. Register by calling the Brown County Art Gallery.
