Plans are coming together for our “Follow the Artists to Brown County” campaign for the annual IHA Exhibition and Sale and the T.C. Steele State Historic Site event, “Painting Selma’s Garden.”

On Friday, June 10, follow the artists to the first look IHA Opening Reception and Awards Presentation. Reservations for the first chance to buy are $20 per person and guests will be treated to food and wine. The show opens to the public on Saturday, June 11, free of charge.

On June 18, follow the artists T.C. Steele State Historic Site to “Painting Selma’s Garden,” during which a select group of artists will be painting the gardens during the day. At 5:30 pm invited guests may tour the gardens, home, and studio and celebrate with food, wine and live music. The day’s work by the artists will be offered for sale and transportation to and from the Gallery will be available between 5:00 and 8:30 pm. Reservations are $45 per person.

The 44th Annual IHA Exhibition Call for Entry closes May 1, so artists should enter soon. Entering the IHA Exhibition and Sale is easy and all the instructions for entering can be found here. Entries are coming daily, and this year’s show looks to be a big one.

2022 IHA Exhibition Entry Drop Off Days are as follows:

  • Saturday, May 14 — Noon to 4 pm
  • Wednesday, May 18 · Noon to 4 pm
  • Sunday, May 22 · Noon to 4pm

IHA volunteers will be on hand to help. Please have your entries completed and your paintings tagged before arriving.

This year’s judge is Utah artist Kathryn Stats. Learn more by visiting her website at kathrynstats.com. She has painted the Utah countryside for over 20 years, falling in love with the landscape on the back of her horse as a child.
